Abstract:
The management of knowledge has become a vital key element to survival in this competitive era for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Many researchers are viewing Knowledge Management (KM) in SMEs the same as in large firms which is inaccurate. Clear understanding on how KM works in SMEs is crucial as it determine the success or failure of KM initiatives. Therefore, this paper intent to presents a review on the uniqueness of KM in SMEs and the differences compare to large organizations (LOs). The reviews are presented based on knowledge resources (human capital and knowledge capital) and KM processes (knowledge acquisition, creation, application, codification and storing, and transferring and sharing).
