Abstract:

The informal economy, the informalisation of the labour market and migration are reasons of the paradoxical state Romania is undergoing nowadays: high international migration rate, moderate domestic migration, labour deficit within certain activity fields, limited access of the youth to the labour market, high tendency for international migration among young people, what is leading to the conclusion that there is a significant deficit concerning the exit from the educational system and labour market integration. The research questions are: to what extent have become insecure and unstable the labour market in the current economic situation; what kind of informal processes have been generated on the employers’ side; how does young workers react at the beginning of their labour market careers; what is the connection between informalised labour markets and youth migration.
