Abstract:
Leadership traits can have a significant effect on the success of an organization and leaders face a range of challenging roles required to lead and inspire their workforce. Personality traits, experience and training are contributing factors of successful leaders. For example, successful conflict management resolution at work is a contributing parameter for job satisfaction and productivity. Conflict at work can be an indication of issues which require managerial intervention but managers may feel ill at ease and unprepared to handle conflicts at work. The purpose of the present work is to present evidence which support the interaction between leadership traits and employees’ satisfaction. Evidence of a correlation between leadership styles and conflict management style is presented and the interaction between leadership traits and teachers’ satisfaction is illustrated with examples of the interaction between school conflict and school leadership. It would be interesting to investigate this interaction in other professions. Further research in this field can elucidate the interaction among different variables including leadership traits and work conflicts, which can affect the level job satisfaction and organizational efficiency.
