Learning Environment and Knowledge Management in Romanian Organisations

Abstract:

The companies have always tried to obtain a competitive advantage, allowing them to maximize their profit, to have loyal customers, and to maintain their superiority over competitors, regardless of the products or services offered. In nowadays economy, learning and knowledge have become key factors of success at international level, and the intangible resources are of vital importance. The struggle between the competing companies has moved from the tangible resources plan (capital, raw materials, land, machineries and equipments, etc.) in the intangible resources plan, where factors such as knowledge and ability to use it (knowledge management) have a crucial role. The knowledge has become the basic resource of the companies. Generation, acquisition and use of knowledge are extremely important for a sustainable economic, social and cultural development. This principle applies equally to individuals, organizations, public institutions, companies, regions or even states.  The contemporary economic environment is characterized by volatility, higher income made by employees and rapid mutations at international level in the political field or in competition. As a result, the modern organizations cannot compete on the market without managers and skilled employees. Therefore, the methods that the companies use in order to manage and use the knowledge, as well as the processes and the technologies specific to their field of activity, computer technology included, are extremely important.
