Learning Management System (LMS) technology is made available in most of the universities and colleges by Saudi Higher Education (HE) but it is not being used with its full potential. This research engaged a UTAUT2 (modified Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) model to investigate determinants that influence the adoption of LMS technology in Saudi HE and to validate UTAUT2 model in developing countries such as Saudi Arabia. Methods: In this cross-sectional quantitative study, data sample of 310 instructors from seven institutions of eastern province of Saudi Arabia was analyzed using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) with SPSS/AMOS program. Survey questionnaire was adapted from UATUT2 model and sent to entire faculty through the IT directors of the institutions. Results: The data revealed that faculty exhibited a high degree of adoption and use of LMS. Conclusions: LMS usage is pervasive in higher education and well adopted by faculty eastern province of Saudi Arabia. This study will contribute in drafting remedial measures against the barriers in adoption of LMS technology. This study also confirms the findings of previous research on UTAUT2 model educational context of a developing countries such as Saudi Arabia.
