Lifestyle and Well-being in Pandemic Experiences of Polish Consumers

Abstract:

The article describes to what extent the lifestyle and well-being of Polish consumers changed in the pandemic after the first wave in March 2020. It presents the assessment of the lifestyle among Polish consumers during the pandemic, taking into account the dichotomous scales referred to the pro-health and anti-health as well as eco-friendly and non-eco-friendly style. Changes of the individual categories of well-being in biological, social, psychical and economical dimensions before the pandemic and during the pandemic have been compared. The factors affecting human well-being, depending on the level of nutrition, housing conditions, family relations, observance of the environmental protection principles, health prevention or financial stabilisations have been analysed as well. Also the consumption behaviours deteriorating human well-being depending on age category have been presented. The author provides examples from her own research conducted in July 2020 using the method of a diagnostic survey applying the technique of a questionnaire CAVI to 672 respondents in Poland selected by means of quota purposive method. SPSS statistics as well as chi-square Pearson's correlation coefficients have been applied in the analyses in proving of the adopted research hypotheses.
