Locating Subjects in the Mixed Reality Scene Based on Encoded Optical Signatures

Abstract:

The paper presents a method of locating a subject in a 2D mixed reality scene. The subject’s location was determined on the basis of an image obtained from the camera, after determining the distance to localization beacons, which were placed in known locations. Identification of the Beacons was possible after thanks to two integrated markers emitting a unique optical signature. After a series of experiments, we obtained the mean absolute error of DXmean = 0.06 m and DYmean = 0.1 m.
