Abstract:
In general, the package of logistic services, supporting activities, includes the following services: organization of physical movement, ie transport; storage; distribution; transshipment; sorting; customs services; information services; financial services; insurance services; maintenance services; warranty services - services supporting the activities of each organization. In large centers, packages of logistic services offered include even several dozen items. These services are provided through logistics distribution centers (LCD), which are complex facilities with storage space, transport infrastructure for various modes of transport, as well as handling and handling equipment. They must have access to long-haul land and / or sea and air connections, powered by local delivery / drop-off connections. Thus, they include both elements of the goods distribution system and nodes of the transport network. These facilities coordinate logistics services (including transport) integrated with the information flow and quality control system, and provide packages of logistics services. With the above in mind, the aim of the article is to analyze the functioning of LCDs and to indicate their place and role in the logistic support system for the activities of every organization, including the militarized one.
