Abstract:
We are at the beginning of the fourth industrial revolution, which is already fundamentally influencing how goods are produced and distributed. Also, the rapid progress of the digitizing wave is exacerbated by the increasing availability of automated machines. Autonomous machines are no longer and may not be part of large companies, but today even smaller companies can afford them. Companies can start with a higher level of automation and show a significant advantage over the competition. How companies are prepared for the Industry 4.0 concept, and their current level can be assessed based on readiness models. Although this modern concept has a wide range, it focuses on the field of logistics, within the concept is extended the concept of Logistics 4.0 This article focuses on the field of internal logistics, which enter and apply the principles and technologies of the concept of Industry 4.0. Warehousing is selected from internal logistics. The introductory sections define terms such as Logistics 4.0, warehousing and individual modern elements that enter this area and aim to improve the current level and readiness of the company. In order to assess the current level and readiness, the maturity models are used, which are described in the next part of the article. The models are analyzed, and based on their evaluation, a new model of readiness is created, conceived in the field of the warehouse. The primary purpose of this article is to design a model of readiness for warehousing and to characterize all levels. The highest levels will correspond to the principles of Industry 4.0.
