Abstract:

Overall objective related to public health in the European Union Sustainable Development Strategy is to promote good public health on equal conditions and improve protection against health threats. The satellite accounts provide the opportunity of making connections between non-monetary statistics and the standard framework of the national accounts. The functional satellite accounts allow new concepts and methods which are characterized by a higher degree of freedom than those in the main national accounts system. When designing and compiling a satellite account, applying the concepts of the main framework for a specific purpose often results in the discovery of certain characteristics. From the point of view of their aim, these characteristics may be helpful, but they can also present previously unforeseen limitations, especially in particular cases as Romania.
