Abstract:
The article reviews the energy situation of the world, the European Union and Poland. It is aimed at assessing the sufficiency of fossil energy sources for now and for future generations. The analyzed data shows that this sufficiency is very low, and the energy demand is constantly growing. In consequence, we observe decisive actions taken to ensure global sustainability – diversification of energy deposits threatened by exhaustion, economical management, climate protection, gradual independence from only one supplier and building a common internal energy market. The paper presents the forecast directions of the energy policy introduced in the world, in the European Union and in Poland in response to the imminent global "energy hunger."
