Management of Cash Flows in Crisis Situations

Abstract:

Any company, regardless of size or field of activity, can face several strategic and tactical challenges, especially when there are sudden economic changes, caused by emergencies and unexpected events . In order to adapt to ever-changing circumstances and opportunities, many companies are forced to make fundamental changes to their strategies and pay more attention to treasury management in order to achieve sustainable development. Treasury is considere d a key element of the current and long-term management, ensuring the financing of the activity and the permanence of the enterprise. Its informative content is particularly important in the financial analysis, in the short term allowing the appreciation of liquidity and solvency, and in the long term measuring the need for financing. Using a case study, we show that understanding the enterprise in terms of cash flows is a way to achieve the performance of the enterprise, with simultaneous accounting, financial and investment influences and in relation to the multitude of users of financial information. We conclude that having an adequate system of budgetary control would allow companies to improve their managerial attitude and performance and provide useful information for solving financial challenges.
