Abstract:
This article indicates the management of international dialogue and its impact on the security of the Baltic Sea Region. The new military situation in the world was pointed out, forcing the Command of the United Baltic Fleet to create a new war strategy assuming that in the event of armed conflict the fleets of the socialist dinner states will carry out combat tasks in the Baltic Sea, in close cooperation with the USSR Baltic Fleet and the land forces. The issue of disarmament was raised at a conference in Geneva. The political changes in Central and Eastern Europe and the phases of the process to achieve independence in the Baltic States were also pointed out. In order to achieve the assumed objectives, domestic and foreign literature was analysed.
