Today’s conditions on world markets forces companies continuously improve themselves in ability transfer very huge quantity of goods all over the whole world. Firms seek competitive advantage in many areas, especially in cutting of costs, improving quality and reducing delivery time. In most cases the company makes efforts to find compromise among above mentioned objectives. On the opposite side, Milan Zelený(ZELENÝ, 2011)suggests not to feel bound by compromise preoccupations and find creative solutions that help company to improve all of attributes at the same time.

In both cases the information technology can contribute by more effective managing all important logistics processes. In this article I deal with logistics and its support in business information system. My attention is focusing on enterprise resource planning. The last part contains practical demonstration managing logistics processes in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
