Management of Virtual Education During the Pandemic. Comparative Analysis Between the Perception of University Students from Peru and Ecuador

Abstract:

The main objective of this work was to analyze the perception of university students regarding the management of online education forced by the covid 19 pandemic, it was possible to compare the reality of Ecuador and Peru that despite being neighboring countries with many cultural coincidences They present legal differences that generate different reality. Quantitative study, with the use of online surveys to collect data, participated 302 undergraduate students of careers related to business, administration, accounting and auditing enrolled during any academic period of the year 2020. More than 95% of students in Ecuador say mastering the use of the internet, while slightly more than 84% of students in Peru affirm the same. In Ecuador, students have a higher percentage of access to technological equipment that allows them to access studies online; Ecuadorian higher education law has contemplated online studies for more than 7 years, which in some cases made it easier for universities to adapt to this modality due to the fact that they had it previously, in the case of Peru, the law has restrictions for this type of education. Ecuadorian students show a lower percentage of interest in returning to face-to-face; 38.5% of Ecuadorian students consider virtual knowledge management efficient versus 45.6% of Peruvian students, which shows a predisposition to this learning modality.
