Abstract:
"Multicultural Teams", a new type of team become importance today, is emerging as a result of the changing business environment, as well as to gain many strategic advantages. Companies form multicultural teams to adapt to the changing global world and business environment and to achieve many goals. Although they have great potential, they have to struggle with many problems due to their characteristics and dynamics. Due to the fact that managers and employees have different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, all these problems such as prejudice, direct or indirect communication, accent and fluency, different approaches to hierarchy and authority, conflicting norms in decision making, time and punctuality differences affect the functioning and performance of the teams. So the companies has to manage it. These teams can produce good performance results if managed well. In the study, students from different cultures working in teams at a university were selected as a sample, and data will be collected by conducting one-to-one interviews with students. The aim of the study is to examine and evaluate the problems that arise due to the nature and characteristics of these teams, the solution approaches that can be considered against them, and how the manager copes with these problems.
