Marketing Support for Sustainable Development of Transportation and Logistics System in VUCA Conditions

Abstract:

This study deals with conceptual foundations of the interrelations of sustainable development of transport and logistics system suppliers in VUCA conditions, their competitiveness, the activities of local authorities regarding the development of transport and logistics services and support of environmental parameters, as well as modern areas of marketing support for the development of transport and logistics services. The research was conducted on the basis of Ukraine’s transport and logistics system, since the latter is considered to have a favorable geographic location between West and East. To determine the conceptual framework of marketing support for the development of transport and logistics services, thematic studies of modern marketing concepts were conducted. This study was the first to address the interconnection between the marketing of transport and logistics services, the marketing support of regions, the transport and logistics clusters and transport and logistics enterprises in a more comprehensive manner. The concept of sustainable development of the transport and logistics system in VUCA conditions based on its marketing support is proposed. The practical aspects of this study are to supply the transport and logistics service providers with development recommendations in terms of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of the modern world and the implementation of modern marketing concepts. Identifying regional actions as for the development of transport and logistics clusters as well as their marketing support carries such social consequences as social orientation of business, environmental friendliness, creation of new workplaces, and improvement of the population quality of life.
