Abstract:
Maternal mortality has been a topical issue of concern in sub-Saharan Africa and the world over. This empirical study was conducted to achieve the goals of: evaluating the nexus between mass media maternal health education and maternal mortality awareness; ascertaining the effect of mass media maternal health education on maternal mortality awareness; and examining the impact of credible mass media maternal health education on maternal mortality awareness. The study adopted the quantitative research approach through the use of survey. Its findings were based on ninety-eight (98) returned and correctly filled questionnaire copies that were administered to only female respondents in Ogun State, Nigeria. The study portrayed all analytical constructs as having high reliability and internal consistency.
