Abstract:
The protection of mothers and fathers performing parental duties is an integral part of the Labour Code, when an employee is guaranteed an adequate minimum level of protection in relation to his or her maternal or parental responsibilities. Women are granted the opportunity to take maternity and parental leave in connection with the expectation and care of the child and men are granted the possibility of taking parental leave in connection with the care of the child. The article analyses these individual leaves, points to the assumptions of their origin, duration and describes their use in practice.
