Measuring Community College Performance using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA)-Bootstrap Approach

Abstract:

The efficiency and productivity of the higher education sector play crucial roles in the development and growth of a nation, both as a major source of human capital and as a main driver of the knowledge economy.Malaysia Community College is part of public higher education under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) which providesplatform and opportunity for societies to improve their technical and vocational skills. Thusit is become vital to construct the theoretical framework to analyzeMalaysian Community Colleges performance. The purpose of this paper is to develop a theoretical framework to measure efficiency score of Malaysian Community College by employing a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model combined with bootstrapping procedures for a sample of 42 Community Colleges across Malaysia.
