Measuring the Social and Economic Cohesion in Romania and Bulgaria

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to identify the European social models’ performances related to the Europe 2020 Strategy, focusing on the labour market, education and social exclusion objectives. The study highlights the path followed by the five EU sub-models (Northern, Continental, Southern, Anglo-Saxon and ECE sub-model) in terms of reforms and changes after the 2008 economic crisis. Our goal is to examine the reforms that had best results in terms of poverty and social inequalities reduction in the EU social models.
