Measuring the Goals of Lean Management Concept Implementation

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to elaborate on the issues of efficient implementation of the Lean Management concept in enterprises. Such efficiency was treated very comprehensively; on the basis of several dozen papers available on-line, quantitative measures were identified and thanks to them, areas of implementation were determined, along with objective assessment of progress in implementation and subsequently application of the Lean Management concept. Furthermore, these measures were thematically grouped and assigned to one out of four areas of Lean Management maturity areas. Literature studies carried out as part of this paper seem to be of key importance for the assessment of the functioning of companies in general (not only the ones applying Lean Management), as they indicate gaps and deficiencies along with directions of changes aimed at improvement of efficiency in operating activities in almost every area of the company’s operation.
