Abstract:
A study of competitive advantages as a scientific category has been conducted. Various positions of scientists to the interpretation of this concept have been analyzed. The features of competitive advantages in the construction industry have been disclosed. The basic characteristics of competitive advantages in construction have been systematized, which prove the dependence of the competitiveness of a construction organization on the competitiveness of construction products; the dependence of the performance and stability of the competitive positions of the construction organization in certain market segments; the need to integrate the efforts of all participants in investment and construction activities, including state regulatory institutions, to create competitive advantages in the construction sector; the need to effectively manage the process of introducing digital technologies and innovations and turning them into competitive advantages at all levels of interaction between participants in investment and construction activities. An author's mechanism has been developed for the formation of competitive advantages in construction as part of the development of the digital economy, which takes into account the levels of the investment and construction project, construction organization, state, and international level. It has been proposed to consider the internal competitive advantages specific to the construction industry at each level, the external ones that are supposed to be acquired through the capabilities of the digital economy, digital tools and technologies, and the formed competitive advantages that the construction sector will receive as a result of the integration of its internal competitive advantages and opportunities of the digital economy.
