Mergers and Acquisitions in Malaysia

Abstract:

Like other developing countries, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) has been emerging successfully in Malaysia. Despite being rich in resources, Malaysia is famous for its multiracial culture among foreign countries[1]. As a result, there are high opportunities for foreign companies to expand. Malaysian company is said to be looking into M&A if they wanted to firm up their reputation in Malaysia before competing internationally (Kummer, 2012). This paper therefore addresses mergers and acquisitions in Malaysia as well as the main rules and regulations and the joint motive company involved in M&A. We extend our discussion on the motives of M&A in general.
