Migrations as a Challenge for Dispositional Groups in Polish and European Comparative Perspective

Abstract:

Migrations have always been observed in the world. Over the centuries, people  have been moving for various reasons, both of their own will as well as forced by external circumstances. Migration streams, which are the aftermath of events taking place in many parts of the world, take on different intensities, and their direction is determined by current political, economic or social trends. From a European point of view, the last major migration wave we witnessed in 2011, which initiated by the Arab Spring, shook the stable life of the people of united Europe. Based on the data of the International Organization for Migration, it can be stated that in 2016 over 390,000 illegal immigrants arrived on the European continent, in 2017 there were over 180,000 of them and by November 2018 it was almost 130,000 people , of which over 106,000 came by sea, and the rest by land (www.poland.iom.int, access 29.11.2018).
