Mobile based Information System Adoption: The Role of Perceived Empowerment Benefits

Abstract:

Over the past two decades the explosive growth of the mobile phone, both in developed and developing countries has provided opportunities for developing mobile information systems (MBIS) (Gao et al. 2014; Sanakulov & Karjaluoto 2015). Government and business organizations have developed MBIS to deliver education, health, banking and enterprise systems such as supply chain management (Beth 2008; Gao et al. 2014). Mobile technology has evolved to include location based functionality (eg. GPS), high resolution cameras, microphones and other features that provide organisations with functionality to innovated and exploit opportunities (Sammer et al. 2013, Walisadeera et al. 2013).
