Abstract:
These theoretical inquiries aim to identify the essence, the significance and the specificity of moderation as a method of group work in the teaching process in higher education settings. The application of moderating solutions affords adults a range of opportunities, including (1) competition, which results in enhancing the effectiveness of their learning processes; (2) participation in open discussions; (3) the creative exploration of solutions, drawing on a range of varied positions; (4) the establishment of partnerships and the development of collaborative capacities. Moderation offers an excellent alternative to the expository methods which are commonly applied in higher education.
