Abstract:

This paper discusses the state of feed production in Russia. The effective development of animal husbandry directly depends on the fodder base, featuring a balanced diet for animals according to the content of nutrients. Currently, large agricultural organizations have seen trends in the separation of feed production from animal husbandry, which prompted the development of international feed trade. However, the purchase of feed from the outside is not profitable for most of the small farming enterprises in Russia; organizing their own feed preparation from crop production is a more effective solution. As for the technical provision of fodder preparation, various technologies are currently used that are aimed at the maximum preservation of nutrients.
