Abstract:
The sustainable development of society is based on the synergy of many sub-areas and approaches relating to the development of society and conservation of natural resources. The social development is, in many cases, achieved regardless of sustaining the stable environment. The contemporary society has been evaluating these conflicting requirements for decades by means of intersectional solutions of multicriteria mathematical models.
Having evaluated scientific publication sources, this paper aims to identify sets of criteria that can be used for multicriteria assessment of the use, protection, and maintenance of water resources. The results of multicriteria models are used as an evaluation factor within the framework of ensuring the sustainable development of the society and as a factor of competitiveness and adaptability of accounting units.
The outcome of this work is to design a structure of criteria for the use of multicriteria assessment of management processes of organisational units, based on which it is possible to evaluate approaches to the protection and maintenance of water resources in terms of sustainable development in production and non-profit organisations.
