Necessity of Work Team in Manufacturing Branch Start-Up Enterprises in Latvia

Abstract:

During the course of development, in global enterprises efficiency has been found from teamwork application, achieving higher work outcomes in terms of time, costs and also quality. Changing the management approach to the horizontal character structures in a dynamic and global environment, where also the human resources factor obtains significance for efficient manufacturing company’s  activity alongside technological solutions, it is especially topical to apply teamwork in complex, creative problem solving and introduction of innovation, implementing work for a common goal achievement. Also, young entrepreneurs choose to work in collegial, creative and dynamic conditions and it raises the question, how much the teamwork is topical just for start-up companies in the manufacturing branch, which by their very nature are fast growing enterprises, based on new technologies and an innovative intention. The aim of the study is to find out the most important activities and necessity for team in manufacturing start-up activities commencement and the anticipated outcomes achievement, surveying 55 entrepreneurs from fifteen Business Incubators of Investment and Development Agency of Latvia in the manufacturing branch. The research results reveal that the needs and issues to be resolved in start-up enterprises differ depending on their incubation time. However, the results of the study enable to conclude that the need for work team in manufacturing start-up companies is just in during the start-up companies growth stages, when the participants and employees have to be involved more intensively in the production and sales problem solving.
