Abstract:
Inclusive businesses are considered as a sustainable model aimed at markets located at the base of the pyramid, which include shared value strategies between the company and vulnerable populations, developing economic activities as plaintiffs and suppliers for mutual benefit, including users, suppliers or employees of the organization within the value chain; which join the global commitment to improve the quality of life in low-income communities, generating well-being and increasing employment and entrepreneurship indicators, as a solution to social inequalities. The present study uses a qualitative approach that describes, understands and interprets through studies of social factors and interest groups, the most representative actions of one of the Higher Education Institutions, considered as a leading business of social inclusion in the areas of influence, identifying its actions in the promotion of inclusion and its influence on the social development of the regions it impacts. It concludes about the importance of universities as social actors, which promote development in the regions, including inclusion as a strategic policy; contributing efficiently with social transformation and the sustainable development of communities.
