New Bio- Inspired Approach for Intrusion Detection System Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy Technique Emulation

Abstract:

The rapid growth in computer networks and the emergent of cloud computing and IoT technologies lead to a deficiency in networks’ security and consecutives cyber-attacks. This raises the need for developing efficient security systems to protect computers and devices that connected via networks. Hence, the Intrusion Detection System monitors and analyzes the events in computer networks to detect threats that violate the computer security policies or practices and alerts systems’ administrators, Additionally, the Intrusion Prevention which is a process of attempting to stop possible threats. Moreover, the Intrusion Response System is the system that will respond to the intrusion using policies and processes developed by the organization to deal with intrusion.  This article describes the different intrusion systems categories and suggests a new Bio-Inspired approach for Intrusion Detection System that emulates Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB) which is a medical technique used by surgeon to detect the axillary lymph node status in patients with early breast cancer. A continuous of this work will be presented in future work.
