Occupational Safety and Health of Employees in the Automotive Industry – Case Study of Metal Casting Enterprise

Abstract:

Ensuring safe working conditions is the task of both employer and employee. Considering the risk arising from the production activity of the enterprise, it is necessary to take into account the exposure of employees arising from the system: human - technical object - the environment in which this activity is performed and affects the entire process. All elements of the system can be a source of danger, and each of them can relate to the consequences of the risk of accidents or occupational diseases. During the production of aluminium castings in the pressure casting process, many factors and substances that threaten the health and life of employees can be specified. The specificity of technological processes, as well as materials used and produced in the foundry make it an activity classified as a hazardous process for the employee. The article presents the assessment of occupational risk of foundry machines and devices operator in the automotive industry plant by using the Risk Score method.
