Online Payment and Individual’s Characteristics: Evidence from MENAP

Abstract:

This study used the Global Findex Database of World Bank 2014 to analyze the relationship between an individual’s characteristics and using the online payment for daily life in MENAP. The online payment linked with age, gender, education, and income as characteristics living in the area. The analysis reveals that using the online methods in MENAP region still at the minimum, individuals with socio-economic characteristics. Therefore, this study recommends that policy makers in the region could work together with financial companies such as banks to provide more electronic tools to enhance using the online banking.
