Abstract:
Open Data plays an important role in contemporary digital society. It impacts all significant sectors including politics, transportation, business, R & D and, last but not least, the health sector. The first part of this paper presents a methodology for the use of open human medicine data collection, focusing on antidepressants, for competitive business environment analysis, including key producers and their market activity in specific European countries. The second part of our research will show the potential of this kind of open data for predicting health trends using visualization, which we consider to be a crucial advantage for policymakers and decision-makers. We have monitored the quality of all the EU control agencies' open data accessibility and suggested an optimal structure for complex business analysis and possible improvements.
