Abstract:
Optimal allocation of distributed generations (DGs) is a well-known research area, being widely investigated in the last twenty-five years. In this paper, a Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) is considered to contribute to this research field area. Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) is a recent and novel nature-inspired optimization algorithm that proved a good performance in solving many optimization problems. This algorithm is used in this to optimally allocate the network voltage profile to connect ageneration unit to a public distribution network. A case study, with an IEEE 69-bus feeder and a new DG to connect, geographical dispersed, are used to simulate the performance of the proposed approach. The proposed approach is combared with PSO, analytical, and genetic algorithm. The obtained results prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach to reduce the required charges for connecting new renewable generation units to electrical public systems.
