Organizational Culture in Virtual Structures: Mechanisms of Consistent Collaboration

Abstract:

This paper investigates the issue of mechanisms which support the increase in efficiency of collaboration in virtual organizations. Conceptual development and positioning of the research aim at providing a generalizable contribution to management practice, at the same time being accessible to practitioners. The authors focused on working out a pattern for creating mechanisms that allow members of virtual structures to adjust to the organizational-culture-conditioned ways other partners operate. The analysis contributed to the consistency concept which stems from the theory of systems. The practical aspect of the study was presented within multiple case studies, on the example of Turkish organizations. Case studies present a template which serves as a tool for practitioners who exploit network relations and virtual structures.
