Abstract:

Healthcare information systems are fairly different from the standard ones as they handle sensitive patient data or process radio diagnostic data. They are required to provide a high security level because the system must not fail when the patient´s life is at risk. In our paper we are focussing on the possibilities of the outsourcing of healthcare information systems. Its objective is to analyse the market offer of information systems used in healthcare facilities of the Czech Republic, and to assess IS/ICT service outsourcing possibilities in small healthcare facilities, as well as specific outsourcing forms the doctors are interested in.
