Abstract:

The current paper will address the major prospects of public passengers transport modes both at national and international level that can have a positive influence on tourism activities. This study examines the main ways of public transportation: aviation transport, water transport, rail and road transport. In this paper will be presented the impact that transport modes has on tourism activities from an international point of view, and the main ways of transportation used by travelers. The continuous increases in terms of foreign tourists visiting foreign countries, requires a special attention on the transport alternatives currently available at the international and local level.  One of the factors with a direct influence on the tourists’s satisfaction is the quality of public transportation provided by the local authorities. ’’The transport sector will continue to have a major impact on society and the environment in the future – as a means of transportation” (Siedler, 2014).
