Abstract:

If we trouble to trace back some of the most widely accepted principles of modern education, we can find most of them already in existence, somewhere or other, in however modest form, or in however small a corner, in almost every century, of the last two & half a millennium. Education is not time’s fool; it is largely based on the accumulated experience of human nature over hundreds of generation. So the educational principles and methods which time has shown to be conducive to the formation of good men must not be readily altered in response to some challenges. On the contrary, the evidence of history is that failure to adapt is one of the causes of defeat and extinction. It is from the perspective of adaptability we feel changes are necessary in the way education is being percolated to the society through Magas Samaj Seva Mandal’s educational institutes. Be it the school, college, hostel or management in general. This paper outlines a paradigm shift in management of hostels of ashram prashalas managed by Magas Samaj Seva Mandal, Solapur. We, of course, feel that Magas Samaj Seva Mandal ought not lightheartedly abandon practices which time has shown to be sound.
