Patients at Home: Lessons from a French Case Study

Abstract:

The project is the implementation of a Telewatchtower for distant Tele-health. It is mainly composed of a local tele-center offering teleservices and telemedicine, with a 24*7 disponibility. An Internet high broadband infrastructure allows to connect all the houses of the community even the most isolated and the most distant. These houses are automated through the installation of multi-paired cables which allow to connect all types of domotic devices. The securization of the global system is taken in account through a shared and securised hard disk totally dedicated to the tracability of any transaction between the user and the global system. The medical aspects are addressed through an patients’ pathologies adapted group of software applications based on web services.

The human interface with Doctors, nurses, or other professionals rely on Anoto Technology. This experimentation is close to those launched by BASF and Panasonic (Viterion) in US, or Bell Tele E complex in Canada or Tele Asis in Spain.
