Perceived Risks related to the Collection of Personal Data by IoT Devices and Their Impact on the Decision to Use These Technologies: The Case of Wearables Health

Abstract:

Based on the "Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology" and "Privacy calculus" theories, this contribution proposes a research model that will be tested in order to study the impact of perceived risks related to the collection of private data on the intention of individuals to agree to use wearable IoT devices such as the ones for health. Among all the factors that could influence the intention of individuals to agree to use these devices, performance expectations, hedonistic motivations, social influence, perceived risks related to the collection of personal data, and Trust.
