Perception and Behavior of Muslim Tourist on Non-Muslim Tourist Destination: Singapore Study Case

Abstract:

This study aims to look the special role of halal-friendly attributes in Singapore in forming destination image and behavioral intention of Muslim travelers. Singapore is among the countries with Muslim minority, yet it manages to capture a significant amount of Muslim tourist. With the growing number of Muslim tourists will be a promising prospect for Singapore's tourism industry. This study uses a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method in Lisrel 8.8. The sample used in this study was 259 Indonesian Muslim tourists who had visited Singapore in the last four years. The results of this study found five halal-friendly attributes in Singapore have a positive influence on the overall destination image, revisit intention, and recommendation intention. While the affective destination image does not have an influence on the revisit intention and the recommendation intention.
