Abstract:
This paper studied the perception of quality of high tech products produced or made (country of origin) in Mexico, Italy, USA, Germany and China. Data were collected from the Mexican and Italian undergraduate business students and analyzed using a repeated measures-ANOVA and MANOVA. The study found that high tech products made in developed nations are perceived to be of relatively high quality and that high tech products produced in developing nations like China and Mexico are perceived to be of relatively low quality. However, in case of Italy as a country of origin for high tech products, the study showed that customers perceive Italian high tech products to be of average quality.
