Perception Study on Cloud Computing Adoption in SMEs Baghdad, Iraq

Abstract:

This study is about the adoption of cloud computing in an Iraqi SME. Deploying cloud computing in an enterprise infrastructure brings significant security concerns. Successful implementation of cloud computing in an enterprise requires proper planning and understanding of emerging risks, threats, vulnerabilities, and possible countermeasures. However for many small medium sized enterprises (SME’s) there are various doubts with regard to the cost implication and security issues pertaining to the adoption of cloud computing. It is not clear for many, as to what would be the best model to adopt and how to go about transforming their information system towards adopting the cloud based model. This study is quantitative in nature and uses a survey method to gather the information required for the study .A total of four a factors were identified in the literature review which influence the adoption of cloud computing in an SMEs.  Based on the analysis of the data the study proposes a migration model for the adoption of cloud computing.
