Performance Entrepreneurship Success: The Roles of IT Competencies, Cultural Values and Environmental Turbulence

Abstract:

Entrepreneurship plays a dynamic role as a key driving of growth, helping on increasing the competitiveness on global market, playing another role on creating new jobs, and generating a strong internal and external economy (Audretsch, 2002; Lappalainen and Niskanen, 2009). The rapid change on the technological environment made unexpected changes on the consumer behaviour, market demands, and the corporate orientation (Sawy and Pavlou, 2008). (Gima et al., 2005; Lappalainen and Niskanen 2012) summarized that the effects of the information technology on the corporate orientation affected on direct way on the corporate entrepreneurship which formalize the main strategies of the corporate. The utilization of Internet-enabled information systems promises to create significant advantages that firms' overall IT competencies tend to deliver success Performance entrepreneurship (Lisboa et al., 2011). Fewer researchers investigated the impacts of different levels of IT competencies on the corporate entrepreneurship. In Pavlou (2008) defined the IT Competencies a set of components which consist of connectivity, flexibility, and scanning. The aim of this paper is studying the relationships and special effects of the IT competencies (connectivity, flexibility, scanning) on the corporate entrepreneurship (business venturing, self-renewal, product innovation, and organization innovation.
