Performance Evaluation of City Mobility Supply and Demand

Abstract:

City mobility is an essential strategic decision issue for supporting government policy on a city’s sustainable development. This paper proposes a research framework with effective techniques to transform data in a comprehensive city mobility database into usable knowledge for understanding a city’s mobility performance and for identifying areas for city mobility efficiency improvement. With the imputed city mobility dataset, the mobility performance of 63 cities are evaluated based on a novel concept of city mobility supply and demand. The proposed research framework and techniques represent a significant contribution to city mobility research for supporting strategic policy-making on city mobility improvement.
