Political Connections, Related Party Transactions and Firm Performance: Evidence from Tunisian Context

Abstract:

The Tunisian context has been characterized by an authoritarian system that has specific socio-economic attributes such as violation of legal rules or lack of transparency. Since 2011, the revolution created a political and economic change in Tunisia. Recently, the context is becoming rather characterized by bad governance, bankruptcy of some firms, dismissal, corruption, spread of inflation and increase of the rate of unemployment, the restrictions on freedom of speech and political liberties.
