Abstract:
With the COVID- 19 pandemic highlighting the significance of mental health, there is a need for finding ways to preserve the mental health of the public during a pandemic and beyond. Positive Organizational Behaviour (POB) is capable of catering to the need. It offers an insight into an individual’s positive psychological capacities that can be built through training and other interventions. The current paper discusses four positive psychological capacities, regarded as the key POB constructs, that can provide solutions to organizational challenges and are quite useful in helping organizations navigate crises. The objective of the paper is to explore the four POB constructs as means for organizations to preserve and improve the mental health of employees during a pandemic. This will equip employees to adapt to unexpected changes and cope with stress emanating from different sources. The paper concludes by enumerating guidelines for organizations.
