Abstract:

In Dornelor Depression, the practice of rural tourism and agro-tourism can be developed as result of the natural potential offered by Suhard, Giumalău, Bistriţei and Bârgăului Mountains, which frame Dornelor Basin, a tourism and agro-tourism potential (Bran Florina et al., 1996; Chiran A. et al., 2008; Ghereş Mihaela, 2003; Rey R., 1999; Vîntu C.-R. et al., 2015, 2016; Ungureanu D., 2005; Alecu I.N. and Constantin M., 2006).
In order to assess the possibilities for development of rural tourism and agro-tourism in Dornelor Depression, the statistical survey with written questionnaire was used. The sample was represented by a panel of 16 touristic and agro-touristic pensions located in the study area. The questionnaire included a total of 33 questions, of which 5 questions of identification. The information processing was performed using a specialised program for social statistics (SPSS - version 12).
The most important questions focused on the following aspects: the outbuildings, the accommodation capacity, the facilities, the services offered to tourists,  the areas of agricultural land, the crops and the number of animals, the possibilities of development and diversification of touristic services, the ways of promoting and booking the tourists’ requests etc.
The results obtained have been analysed, the general conclusions and recommendations on the infrastructure, touristic and agro-touristic services and facilities, auxiliary services etc. have been drawn (Alecu I.N. and Constantin M., 2006; Vîntu C.-R. et al. 2016; Czosz I., 1996).
